James Ngugi Maigua’s Journey of Hope: A Call to Support His Final Year

Who Is James?

James hails from Ngecha, Mahinga Village in Limuru Constituency. Despite facing immense challenges, he has always remained focused on his education. After his mother left him in Class 4, his aunt and uncle stepped in to raise him as one of their own. Even though they struggled, they ensured James had a place to call home and the opportunity to attend school.

James excelled in his primary education, scoring 358 marks at Jonathan Maara Primary School. With support from a local Reverend, James joined St. Joseph High School in Githunguri. However, after his uncle passed away, paying school fees became a constant struggle. Despite being sent home repeatedly, James remained committed to his studies, often reading from home and excelling when called back for exams.

Academic Journey: From High School to University

James completed his high school journey with a B Plain (63 points) and earned a spot at Chuka University to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce. Through the continued love of his aunt and the support of Humanity Foundation, we’ve been able to raise finances for every semester—covering his rent, shopping, transport, pocket money, and fees.

Now at a Critical Juncture: Fourth Year

James recently completed his attachment and is preparing to start his final year of studies this September 2024. He is eager to continue and complete his degree, but financial hurdles still stand in the way. The remaining fees from his previous education need to be cleared, and we must ensure he has the support necessary to report on time.
